September cards from Just bee scrapin

This weekend was the card weekend at just bee scrapin and we made 3 cards.
This was one of them I had a little trouble getting the ribbon to look the way that i liked so after so many attemps i just gave up. Also the brown for the scallop border and the brown scallop circle are not the same so that bothers me too. but I do like the pattern paper and the colors other than that.

I love the pattern paper on the howling cat card. It is beautiful. I had a hard time with the ribbon on this card as well. (today was not my weekend for ribbon i guess. but all in all i do like this card.

now you are thinking wait she said 3 cards didnt she. well the 3rd card has a 3d pumpkin on it and it when i scan the card it isnt given the justice that it deserves. so that will be a later post!

Card Club for September 2011

The stampin up card club started up again this month. We made some cute cards.
The flower on this one is cut from fabric and then glued in a circle and bunched up. Then we glued a hair clip to the back of it so we can wear it on our clothes, hair, purse etc... It was fun to make. (the green thing on the top left side is from another card. and it got in the picture.

This is the halloween card that we made. the stamp set is in the holiday mini. To color in the letters we used chalk and the blender pens. We also used the spider web embossing folder, and the Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper

Make your own Dishwasher detergent!

So I found a blog that had a recipe for making your own dishwasher detergent. So I thought why not give it a try...

1 box of Borax
1 box of super washing soda
3 cups Epsom salt
24 envelopes of unsweetened lemonade (like Kool-Aid)

that is the recipe on that other blog

I didnt want to make THAT much so I halved the recipe and instead of buying 12 packets of lemonade I bought the big container that makes 8 quarts and Before I left the kool-aid isle i took notice that each envelope has .12 oz of powder in it. SOOOO what I did is

1/2 a box borax
1/2 a box super washing soda
1 1/2 cup epsom salt
and 1.44 oz ( if you want you could round that up to 3 TBLS's) of lemonade powder (now my son can have a tasty drink later)***after a few bad dirty glass' I realized that the lemonade is SWEETENED so stick with the envelopes!!

mix together and store in an AIR TIGHT container to prevent clumping.

and after the first load finished the dishes came out nice. But I did notice a residue on some things and after a trial and err I realized I used Sweetened lemonade. You need to use unsweetened. Now let me also say that I ran the cycle as a "normal" cycle as well. I usually have to run the cycle as pots and pans (which is a longer and hotter cycle) So as for impressed you bet I am. Now the break down on the cost is as follows
borax 4.66~
super washing soda 3.99~
Epsom salt 3.49
Kool-aid (gv brand) 1.98
total---> $14.12 BUT I don't use all the lemonade and epsom salt. and i had a voucher at smiths for$50 So I got the borax and sws for FREE!!! and you only use 1 tbls per wash so this will last forever....OK maybe not forever but before I was paying $5.00 for 20 loads and now i payed 14 for 100 (or more) loads. Try it for yourself and tell me what you think.

Also I am going to make my own Laundry soap in a different post and will use the borax and SWS in it too. (that is part on why I made only half a batch. I got that recipe from Why Not Sew

Happy Birthday Aaron!

So Aaron's Birthday was the 27th. We didnt do anything fancy. This is the card that I made him. I really like the way that it turned out. I also made him a Giant Cupcake cake. It was tasty. For the frosting I buy one jar of pre-made (whatever flavor is appropriate) and add a small container of cool-whip to it. It makes the frosting go twice as far and gives it a nice light taste. My only regret is that I did not take a picture of it.

July Cards at just bee scrapin

the cards That we made this month are cute. I like that they all are not the same paper.

This one I punched a circle out of the center and stamped Thank you on the flip side. I wanted to add a little to it and this helped. Granted I think if I was at home I would of used a differant stamp but hey it turned out ok

This is a good card for a guy. I love it. the colors and the simple fiber. not too girly.

I screwed up on this one. I was suppose to have the ribbon go all the way around the blue but I glued it down before i attached the ribbon. but it turned out OK. then the ribbon was too short to go all the way around the orange and be tied in a knot. so well you can see it.

Card workshop for cheryl

Cheryl had a card workshop during her month. the cards that we made are too cute. I love the color crumb cake.
I stamped for your shower at the top and now I wish I would of stuck with you mean everything to me. but it is still cute. I do have this stamp set so i can change it if I want

what a fun birthday card. too bad that SU retired this set. maybe i can get it off e bay

June cards from Just bee scrapin

Here are the cards that we made for June. I really am getting in to the cream instead of the white. it gives a more soft look.
I think for this one I am going to stamp a wedding sentiment in it. Although, I do have a nice sympathy stamp. who knows maybe it will just end up as thanks or happy birthday

I didnt follow the instructions exactly on this one you know me I like to switch it up a little.

This is a fun one. I love the olive card stock on this one. I think i may need to add this pattern paper to my arsenal.
